Expressions Thinlets Dies

This first picture has nothing to do with thinlet dies but I wanted to show you a project I've been working on today!  I enjoyed working with the hot glue and buttons making jewelry earlier this week so I decided to try putting some on a birdhouse!  I found a wooden bird house from a hobby store and got the hot glue gun warmed up.  This is the roof which is all I have finished for now.  Hopefully in a few days I'll have more complete to show you.

I found these great photos on the Stampin'Up! website featuring some artisan team projects that used the thinlets expression dies.  The expressions dies are in the current holiday catalog and I can't promise that they will carry over so get them while you can.  The first card has the word "Merry" from the set on an elegant Christmas card that would be easy to case!  The card has a sparkly silver glimmer paper snowflake cut with the festive flurry framelets, also in the Holiday catalog!

Next is a great fall scrapbook layout using "thankful" from the expressions thinlets set.  Leaves cut from Sweater Weather designer series paper and Autumn Accents die make this an eye catching page!

Checkout this beautiful watercolor design.  The artist used our high quality watercolor paper shaded with aqua painters and ink squeezed into the lids of the ink pads.  She has used the negative cut out of the love and carefully put the little pieces back in to complete the word.  A little punched heart really sets it off!

Now she has created a scrapbook layout so nothing goes to waste!  Here's the positive of the "love" used in this great layout!  There's even a little Washi tape in the act!  Some heart shapes cut with the heart farmelets set and a little punched butterfly really make the page!

Coaster Board Mixed Media Jewelry!

I ran across a video by Janet Wakeland showing how to make these neat pieces of mixed media jewelry!  What a great opportunity to use up my retired stash of buttons and other elements!  These are so fun to create!

I used the Big Shot from Stampin' Up! to cut butterflies, leaves and shapes from the apothecary framelets from Coaster Board.  To cover the coaster board with ink, I used the direct to pad method.

I used a hot glue gun to adhere buttons, beads, rhinestones and other elements to the coaster board.  After creating each piece of art, I coated it with Crystal Effects and sprinkled it with glitter or SU! Dazzling Diamonds.  As Janet suggested in her video, I'm using a magnet glued to the back of the piece and a washer to hold it in place on clothing.

This was also on the home page showing a cute version of a card made with the Everday Occasion kit!  This is such a neat kit wth all the card bases and die cuts to make 20 cards.

Christmas Swaps!

Hey friends, it's been a busy day starting with church in the morning.  In the afternoon I had a workshop for my friend, Marci!  Her guests made a couple of fun projects and enjoyed some relaxed stamping.  After that, it was back to church in the evening!  So this evening I'm showing you some swaps I've received and some from my upline, Carol Payne.

The first one is a card by Carol using the dryer sheet technique.  I think it is so fun to recycle your used dryer sheets into these gorgeous cards.  You simply stamp your image on cardstock, then cover with our glue stick and smooth the dryer sheet over it.  She trimmed the dryer sheet even with edges of the cardstock and then sprinkled it with dazzling diamonds.  She also used a piece of Winter Frost specialty Designer Paper. Notice the beautiful Whisper White Organza Ribbon and piece of Coastal Cabana  3/8" Ruffled Stretch Ribbon that really dresses this card up.  Just beautiful!

Next is a card by my friend and sister demo, Aleta Hearn from Carmi!  She has used the Joyous Christmas stamp set with the gold Encore ink to make this simple but elegant card!

Last but not least is a card by Catherine Stephenson that Carol received in a swap.  She has used the Christmas Collectibles set and coordinating punch to make this cute card!  Silver ribbon, a strip of the Winter Frost Designer Speciality Designer Paper and a rhinestone really make this an outstanding card!

Don't forget that tomorrow is the last day to order from the 25% off list of 25 stamp sets!  Go to my website www.lindareaney.stampinup.net and click on shop to see a list and images of the stamps.  Order online from the same site!

Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Kit

Here's an easy way to get your Christmas cards done quickly with impressive results!  This adorable kit  has supplies for 8 cards.  All you need is a real red ink pad, the coordinating stamp, Merry Little Christmas, and some adhesive!  It  comes with prescored and cut cardstock and those cute little red buttons and already cut Baker's Twine!

How about this!  The kit comes with envelopes and red dotted liners!  The perfect finishing touch for your handmade cards!

I've been seeing this card around Pinterest for awhile.  I found a nice version of it on Stampin 'Up! Artisan team posts!  I threw together a quick version tonight to show my ladies at a workshop I'm doing tomorrow afternoon.  This is Joyful Christmas from the Holiday catalog and Gorgeous Grunge from the 2013-2104  catalog.  The poinsettia is embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder on real red cardstock, then colored with a Cherry Cobbler marker and a blender pen.  The leaves are gold embossed on Pear Pizzazz cardstock then shaded with old olive.  I took a blender pen and added some versamark to the center of the poinsettia and added some gold embossing powder!  I want to play with this set some more!  I'm loving the results!

Don't forget this sale that will end on Oct 28th!  Check my website to order.  www.lindareaney.stampinup.com

4 reasons to purchase the "Snow Day" stamp set!

Here are all the great images you get with the Snow Day stamp set!

What a cute little snowman note card that my upline, Carol Payne, helped her sis n law create on her recent visit to Southern Illinois!  Wouldn't these be great to use as thank you cards or to drop a note to a good friend or family member that you won't be able to visit this holiday season!

Here's an alternate way to use your "Snow Day set!  That cute little snowman face becomes the face of this adorable frog!  This is our circle framelet card die and one of the other dies, "yay", that comes with it!  What a fun card!

Here is a gift tag you can make with the snowman images and the ornament keepsakes framelets that were carried over from last years Holiday catalog.  My upline also came up with this to demo at a vendor fair she recently attended!  You could make a bunch of these for your gifts this season in no time!

And how about this adorable snowman card!  Oh what fun indeed!  Love his little silver embossed hat with matching silver ribbon and silver foil tag backing!

Holiday cards!

Boy, it's been another busy day with taking my granddaughter, Brooklyn to her daycare after pre-k and then going to do grocery shopping for my mom.  It was back to pick Brooklyn up from daycare because her mommy goes to a college class on Thursday.   So, not much stamping was done today.  That is why I pulled out this recent swap from Carol Payne.  She has used our Halloween Washi tape available in the holiday catalog to add lots of interest to this cute Halloween card.  She has added texture with the houndstooth embossing folder.  The cute little witch is from Halloween Hello as well as the greeting!

Love these cute little candy corns and a touch of Washi tape on the inside!

And now on to Christmas because it will be here before we know it!  Just scary how quick the time passes! Seems like we were just welcoming in the year of 2013 and now we are only a little over 2 months away from 2014!  This is another card we will be making at the November mystery card class. I love this bright cheery bow made from our new Season of Style designer series paper from the holiday catalog.  Plan to come make this and other cards with us!

Your Thursday special!

Envelope Punch Board

Oh my, look what finally arrived!  My envelope punch board!  It's been on back order but they are back in stock now!  Couldn't resist learning how to use this latest piece of equipment.

I used a piece of our Witches Brew Designer Series Paper and Pumpkin Pie cardstock to make this sparkly Halloween card!   I found these scary bats to put on the front of my file folder card.  They get their sparkle from Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle!  The cute little tag comes from the "Tags 4 You" set that we received at convention last summer.  I used the Bracket punch that matches the set to punch it out and matted it on a pumpkin pie scalloped circle.

The "Happy Halloween" greeting is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  I used the direct to pad technique to add color to the edges after punching with the word window punch.

This card is easy to make.  Start with an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock, scored at 4 1/4.  You will need two pieces of designer series paper 5 1/2"x 4 1/4, one for the front and one for the inside of your card.  Line up the left edge of the card with the edge of the board and punch.  Then move it over to the 3" line and punch again.  Trim off the rest of the cardstock to the right.  Turn the card around and repeat the process.  Have fun decorating!

Star Book page 2

I found a little time for stamping this evening after after a busy day and finished another page for my star book I'm making! Once again I turned to my "Snow Day" stamp set to make this cute little snowman and snowflakes.  He is stamped in white craft ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  The trees and greeting are from "Special Season". I continued with Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist to keep with the colors of the cardstock.  His scarf is made from the cotton trim from the 2013-2014 catalog and frayed at each end.  These pages go together quickly!  I hope you'll try one yourself!

The big announcement today from Stampin'Up! Is this list of 25 stamp sets at 25% off.  Check these out and then go to www.lindareaney.stampinup.net for a closer look and to order them online.

Birthday Card!

Hi all my stampin friends!  I have a cute birthday card for you today.  I can't take credit for designing it but cased it from my upline who cased it from Patty Bennett.  I decided to use it for an upcoming workshop I'm doing because it's so easy and so cheery!  It's a combination of Raspberry Ripple and Bermuda Bay with a little embossing and some happy balloons!  The Birthday Basics designer series paper compliments this card quite well!

Contact me if you'd like to place an order and receive this card in the mail if you are not coming to the workshop!  618-559-3785

Star book!

This is a work in progress but I wanted to show you the star book I've been working on!  I've been looking at tutorials online to see how these are done.  I found several and I see that you can make different sizes and decorate them however you want.  The new Pop n Cuts die used with the Bigshot makes these books even more dimensional with very little work!  I've chosen Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Whisper White for my main colors of this book.  The first page has a snow scene, stamped with Lovely as A Tree and Snow Day.  The snowflakes are Midnight Muse and the trees are Always Artichoke.  The sky is sponged with Marina Mist.  I used the bird builder to punch the cardinal and some leaves.  Notice the cardinal has a little top knot which I made by adding another wing behind his head!  The Marina Mist layer on the pop out is cut with the deco label framelets.  The snow is what else but Dazzling Diamonds!

To complete this book I will need 6 pages like you see here.  The Cherry Cobbler layer is 11" x 5 1/2", the Always Artichoke is 9 x 5 1/2".  I trimmed the Whisper White layer that I cut with the pop n cuts die to 7 1/2" x 5 1/2".  I fastened the layers together at the 5 1/2" end with double-sided sticky tape.  When I get the other layers made, I will use more sticky tape to put them back to back.  Hopefully this will not be too far off and I can show you my progress as I complete my book!

Well, sad but true, this deal will end after tomorrow!  You still have time to take advantage of it.  Go to www.lindareaney.stampinup.net and click join now!  There is no obligation!  You will receive a 20% discount on all your stamping products.  30% on your first order of $150 in 45 days.  You will get early previews of new products and chances to earn free products.  You can also attend mine and my upline's classes for 1/2 price.  If you decide it's not for you, just do nothing and it will go away at the end of March.  I would love to have you on my team!
