Flower Patch

Wow, is all I can say about this great card by Jodi McKinney that I found on The Stampin' Up! Website! It features 2 new stamp sets, the photopolymer set, Flower Patch and Kinda Eclectic!  Those little squiggly lines in the background are from another new photopolymer set, Chalk Lines.  All of these new sets combine together for some beautiful cards that could be considered works of art!  The Flower patch stamps have matching framelets that are offered in a bundle for a 15% savings.

Using negative Punched Spaces

Here's another version of the butterfly card I posted the other day.  I decided I needed something bright for our class so I chose Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay to brighten up these butterflies!  This card uses the negative punched space from the Bitty Butterfly punch as part of its design.

Using negative punched images

This is a different sort of technique that we usually don't think about!  It's using the negative image that you get when you use your punches.  I got this card design from scrapbooking 24/7.  It's by Debbie Designs.  The only thing I changed was the sentiment.  The colors are Sahara Sand, Soft Sky and Basic Gray.  Not colors I usually use but it's a nice soft neutral palette.

I will need to make another one as Zoe the cat decided to help me and layed on this one.  Not too much damage but a little crumpled!  I will save that for another day since I am pretty tired from a fun day of shopping with a good friend!

I think you could choose your favorite three colors and make a beautiful card with this design!

Nuts About You

Spent a little time today playing with my new hostess set, Nuts About You!  What a cute little bunch of birds and squirrels!  I embossed the tree with Early Espresso embossing powder.  The leaves are punched with new punch pack from the new Incolor, Mossy Meadow.  I stamped and cut out the little birds and squirrels and attached them with a glue dot!  This adorable little set can only be purchased with hostess dollars.  You can earn hostess dollars by placing a $150 order or by joining my club and placing a $25 order each month for 6 months.

Father's Day Card

I've not had much time this week for getting extra stamping done. We are finally getting the garden planting finished after having rain almost everyday!  Then of course there is all the yard work and babysitting!  I'm not complaining! though!  After thawing mom's water line out in 0 degree weather last January, this is just fine!  Brooklyn and I had a good time this evening when I babysat while her mother ran to the store.  She decided that I would play church songs on the piano while she used her play microphone to sing Katie Perry songs and other lyrics she made up!  It was quite entertaining!

I still needed a quick Father's Day card so I pulled out "By the Tide".  I stamped the fish with versamark and embossed with the now retired Pewter embossing powder.  Then I sponged with Island Indigo and Wild Wasabi for the water effect.  Some Island Indigo Baker's Twine wrapped 3 times and tied in a knot  gives it the finishing touch!  The sentiment is from the old stand by, Teeny Tiny Wishes.

It's a pretty simple card but then I think guys tend to like that.  They don't appreciate all that fluffy stuff we add to OUR cards, lol!

Perfect Peacock

The first time I looked at the new catalog I knew I would have to have this stamp, Perfect Peacock!  Well, it has arrived and I couldn't wait to play with it!  Since we don't have Blendabilities available to customers at this time, I decided to use my markers for this card.  The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Island indigo, Garden Green, Wisteria Wonder, Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight.  The technique is Faux Diamonds.  This is a simple but striking technique which is easily done with a mixture of Dazzling Diamonds and Irridescent Ice.  Cover your cardstock with versamark, then sprinkle with the mixture and melt with the heat gun.  You can tell when you have heated it sufficiently because the "diamonds" will pop out!  The Baker's Twine is the new gold metallic.  I thought it was perfect for a glitzy peacock card!

Stippled Blossom and Papillion Potpourri

Finally some time in my stamp room!  I've been wanting to case this card since I saw it on the 24/7 Scrapbooking Facebook page!  I did change a few things like the color, sentiment and trim.  I used Baked Brown Sugar, Happy Birthday and Linen Thread rather than Crumbcake, Thanks and twine!

This card went together quickly and will be fun to make at an upcoming stamp class!

Chalk Lines

Hello, there, I think I'm back in the groove of blogging and stamping after a 10 day babysitting experience with my 5 year old granddaughter!  My daughter took a trip to Germany with the SIU law school so I kept Brooklyn while she was gone.  Between her and my 91 year old mother next door, nothing much else gets done besides taking care of them!

Anyway, here's a nice card I found on the Stampin' Up! Website that was created for the South Pacific 2014 Convention.  Chalk Lines is a new photopolymer set shown in our new catalog!  (Call me if you still need one).
